today was an embarrassing day for me....*giggles* met up with an old friend for lunch...we decided to eat at this organic restaurant which is like 5 mins walk from Amoy Food Center...the food was unique...not too bad...quite tasty....*yum yum* it was a good lunch..we had a good talk....anyway...on our way back...the MOST embarrasing thing happen to me....while crossing the road....MY SHOE GAVE WAY!!!!!
can you believe it? right in the middle of the road, while i was crossing the traffic light, my shoe just gave way and i had to pick it up right from the middle of the road... SO PAISEH!!! then i had to wobble to the nearest chair..to try to "save" my broken shoe so that i can wear it to somewhere to either repair of buy a new pair...after many attempts...i gave up...it's simply DAMAGED...so i was stuck in the middle of shenton way with no shoes... my friend gave me 2 choices: (1) to wobble to the nearest cobbler to have the shoes fixed, (2) he would go on my behalf to repair the shoes, (3) i would go barefooted to the nearest shopping center to buy a pair of new shoes, (4) he would buy a pair of shoes for me or (5) i would borrow his shoes to buy a pair of shoes while he waited at some corner ... *sighz*
well...all the choices seemed so bad to me...and so out of all the bad choices...i chose to go barefooted to buy a new pair of shoes... and so i walked barefooted along Shenton way....a place where everyone was in powersuit and there i was...wobbling barefooted towards the shopping center... SO PAISEH!!! as i walked along the crowded street as it was during lunchtime...i tried to look cool and act cool... *laughs* and pray and hope that no one will notice a barefooted woman along the street...
however, along the way, one woman saw me and gave me a smile..she realized that my shoe broke...and i could see that she's trying very hard not to laugh...and so she gave me a smile...and i smiled back...must be polite although at that very moment..i was very unglam... SO PAISEH!!! finally reached the nearest shopping center and shoe shop...and my mission was to choose the most affordable and prettiest shoe...in the end i bought a pair that cost me 26 bucks...not very cheap..but okay..still affordable and quite pretty....*satisfied* but it's still SO PAISEH!!!
anyway..must really thank my friend....he has been very helpful and very considerate..... he didnt forsake me in times of embarrasment...and he was very nice to help me all the way... this is what i call... A FRIEND IN NEED IS A FRIEND INDEED... but then again..i think any friend would help me right? *laughs* still must thank this friend anyhow....
told a colleague what happened...and she was even funnier....here's our conversation after i told her about my embarrasing moment:
C: hey..imagine this...what if one day you met this handsome guy and this guy actually said:" hey...aren't you the girl who walked barefooted in shenton?"
H: ha ha ha ha..you very funny leh....
C: what would you say ah??
H: mmm...let's see..i would go..."was i cute?" ha ha ha
C: ha ha ha ha..your answer very good ah...you can join Ms Universe!!
