It started and ended with "L"

L U N C H - that's how it started.

she didnt know how, when and why he started talking to her. she couldnt remember and she didnt bother to. it all started with lunch. he talked to her, she responded. he asked her out for lunch, she said yes. one lunch led to another. another lunch led to dinner. somehow, she and he started hanging out together more and more.

one day, she and he went for dinner. she didnt feel like going home early. he didnt feel like going home early too. hung around and chatted. she and he getting bored. he suggested going to his house to chill as he had some dvds. she said "ok" because she didnt want to go home. on the way to his house, he tried to hold her hands. she didnt let him. reached his house. she picked up "Juno". he agreed with that. he put the dvd into the player and went to the couch. he sat extremely close to her. she felt strange but didnt care. he started to hold her hand and inched closer. she wondered if she should let that happen. she's feeling a little excited. he started to come closer. she didnt move away. then he kissed her. she kissed back. one kiss led to another. another kiss led to more kisses. she made out with him. she enjoyed it and he enjoyed it. she asked him " why? " he said " no idea. " she asked " you like me? " he replied " yeah, if not why are we doing this? " she smiled and he smiled. the next day, she and he went shopping. he held her hand. her heart beat really fast as she's shy. she wondered if that meant anything. he didnt say anything.

first quarrel happened when she told him that she wanted to hang out with a friend when she had promised to catch a movie with him. she told him " i want to go out with friend after our movie. " he went "oh, just go ahead with your friend. we can watch the movie another day. " she replied " no, we can watch it today and i can go out wtih my friend after that. im going for my holiday this weekend, the movie would be gone by the time im back." he argued " no, just go out with your friend. i dont want to watch the movie anymore. " she's baffled and asked " why? why are you pissed off? " he just said " im not. just go with your friend. " she was a little sad and replied " fine, if that's what you want. " so she went out with friend.

while out with friend, he texted her " didnt have a chance to say bye to you today. have fun and enjoy your trip. " she ignored him. just before she left for her trip, he called her to say " goodbye and take care. " she said " goodbye and take care " too. during the trip, she texted her once. he texted her back. she totally enjoyed the trip and was looking forward to share with him all the experiences.

however, he seemed to have changed when she's back. he's no longer interested in her. he stopped chatting with her. he stopped having lunches with her. he stopped walking her to the bus stations. she's feeling sad. she wondered why. she asked " hey, what happen? " he went " nothing. what could have happened? " she's very very confused. she couldnt figure out why the change in attitude. then she realized. he's now interested in friend. he was having lunches and dinners with friend. she's shocked. all it took was 1 week for him to have a change in attitude and heart. they told her to let go. they told her he's a jerk. they told her that she should just ignore him. but she wanted to find out why. she just wanted to know the truth. she asked him " are you dating friend? " he replied " no,why do you ask? " she asked again " then why did your attitude change towards me? " he said coldly " it didnt change. " she asked again " yes it did. now you're not spending time with me " he didnt reply. she gave up.

2 weeks later friend told her " im dating him. " she went " really? when did it start? " friend said " we started hanging out 3 weeks ago. " she realized he had actually asked her out the day she left for her trip. she felt disgusted. she's wondering if she should tell friend about she and he. she didnt want to be the shit stirrer. she thought he would be man enough to tell friend. so she left it as it was. she still talk to him but he's not that friendly anymore. she still keep in touch with friend. they told her to hate him. she told them she didnt want to spend time hating someone who was not worth her time. she told them she had move on and they didnt have to worry. she even hung out with him and friend. a little awkward but she could still handle that.

he and friend dated for 10 months. broke up because friend was extremely unhappy with him. she talked to friend to make sure friend's alright. friend was fine. during conversations, she mentioned about she and he. friend was shocked. friend didnt know. friend asked her why didnt she told friend. she told friend that she thought he would have told her and so she didnt. besides, she didnt want to be the shit stirrer. friend was extremely shocked. friend confronted him. he told friend " OMG, i forgot! " friend told her. she felt nauseous. was she that forgetable? it meant nothing to him at all? she wanted to kill him badly. she felt so unworthy and cheap. he texted " sorry, im truly sorry, i forgot to tell friend about us. " she told him " your sorry came too late. " he said " im really sorry. " she told him " it doesnt matter now. " he said " im truly sorry. i can explain. let's meet and talk . " she wondered what kind of excuses would he come up with. she agreed to meet him for the talk.

she and he met. she could see that he was trying very hard to start the conversation. she felt that he's pathetic and so she said " so, why didnt you tell friend? " he said " i was confused. " she probed. he said " everything happened too fast and i was confused. " she demanded a better explanation. he said " i kinda started talking to friend and realized that we can connect at a certain level. so i started to fall in love with her. but i wasnt sure if friend felt the same. i was really confused. so when friend agreed to be my gf, i put in everything for her as i really want us to work out. " she questioned " why didnt you speak to me earlier? i tried talking to you. you ignored me. " he paused. he said " im sorry, i should have spoken to you earlier. i was really confused and didnt know what to do. im sorry. i didnt know you were trying to talk to me. i was sooo confused. " she asked " what's so confusing? " he paused for 1 minute and said " anyway, nothing will come out between us. we're too different. after that night, i was feeling confused and bad. i didnt know what to do. so sorry. " she replied " fine. but why didnt you tell friend? i thought you would be truthful to her. " he said " i forgot. we only talked about our past once and i was so shocked about hers that i forgot to tell her. " she rolled her eyes at this answer " what the hell? was it that unforgetable? and why should you be shocked about friend's past. from our conversations, you know about her. doesnt make sense at all ." he just kept quiet. had no more explanation. she told him coldly " you should be thankful that i handled this whole thing in a very calm and mature manner. if i had kick up a big fuss, would you even have the chance with friend? besides, they told me to hate you. i told them i am not going to because i dont think it's worth the trouble at all. " he kept quiet. then he said " im really sorry. i was sooo confused that i didnt know what to do! " "DUDE! what was soooo confusing? " she shouted. he kept quiet. she went on " you know, let's forget about it. we're good now. so let's move on. although i do not accept your explanations, i do not want to pursue further either. let's move on. dont be so childish. " he nodded. she walked away.
