funny friend

i have many friends/acquaintances in life. some remain, some move on, some disappear, some reappear, etc etc. of course i have some very good friends whom i will always keep and remember. but there are also some friends whom i am not sure if they will be my friends always but for now, i want to remember and keep this friend of mine.

once he was typing to me via instant chat about how horrible his day had been. he was typing for almost 1 min, describing in details what had happened and how bad he felt and etc etc. and in return i typed " tell me about it " and guess what? my friend got into a rage. he replied " WTF??! i just told you everything and you still ask me to tell you about it. cant you read? " i burst out laughing and couldnt stop for at least 2 mins. i told him that "tell me about it" is a phrase that people used to express that they share the same sentiments. he told me " come on, dont use your singlish on me now " OMG. it was soo hilarious that i couldnt stop laughing. when i told him it's not singlish but american english, he didnt believe me. so we went around asking a few american colleagues and only then, was he convinced.

i love this friend of mine. he's always giving me nicknames. first, he started calling me "wrestler". it started because he wanted me to donate money to UNICEF and i said i am already donating to WWF. and he went " why are you donating to the wrestling federation? are you a wrestler? " and i go " dude, it's WORLD WILDLIFE FOUNDATION and not WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION " and he was like " wrestler!! " and since then, im the wrestler. and it didnt help that i kinda look like one! then another time, i met him for a quick dinner around my place. so i was dressed in t-shirts, shorts and slippers. he saw me and said " why are you dressed like a filipino now? im so ashamed to be seen with you " i was sooo bewildered by his comments that i forgot to get angry. finally, i got back from phuket with a nice tan ( in my opinion, it's nice ) but he didnt like it. so he started calling me " thai farmer ". this guy is hilarious! now i told him im going to bali, he said " oh my god, you're coming back as an indonesian now. god. dont come near me. "

another time, we were talking about going to church togets to look for boyfriend/girlfriend. we were actually chatting about the different ways of getting to know more people. so i went " dude, dont go up to a girl during service and introduced yourself. that's too embarassing " and he went " ooh, that's quite a good idea. imagine, after service, i go up to this girl and say " hi, my name is xxxx. this is my first time here in church. how about you? wanna grab lunch? " good right? " again, i couldnt stop laughing. he was sooo serious about this and he actually showed me in person how he was going to do it. seriously, he was getting out of hand. told him again that he would be "banned" from the church and he went " come on, you know im joking " seriously, i had no idea.

it may not seemed that hiliarious when i penned it down. but seriously, at the moment when it happened, i laughed sooo hard that i started to tear. i really love this funny friend of mine. he made my stay in hong kong more enjoyable!!
