had my first birthday celebration of the year on the 1st day of 2006...well not mine birthday of course..am not a january baby...but it was the birthday of an old friend...come to think of it...we have been friends since primary school...but we only sort of like hang out together in secondary school and that will be calculated as 12 years!! oh my god...am getting older by the minute....*gasps*
anyway, it is our "tradition" that the birthday girl has to give the rest of the friends a treat and the res tof us will buy a presents for her...it's been 12 years...we are getting older and so ideas for presents are running low...and thus, in the end, we each fork out a sum of money and gave the birthday girl a red packet.. so that she can get whatever she wants...hahahaha...frankly speaking, if someone gave me a red packet, i would most probably spent it on food and hence i would prefer a gift but then again...it's kinda difficult to tell others what i want when what i want is not cheap...*sighz* life is full of choices i must say....
anyway, we went for dinner at this buffet restaurant - pariss xxx xxx xxxx - not very sure of the name...but it was at marina square....it's rather expensive but i must agree that the food is very very fresh..the oyster was so huge that it looked kinda scarry to eat it but it was indeed very fresh...had endless flow of salmon and tuna sashimis...had chocolate fondue...had fruits...had ice-cream...had dim sum...had cakes...so many types of food...i ate till i could swear that i can turn into a ball and explode with the prick of a needle...*laughs*
anyway, because my dear friend is an avid fan of karaoke...we proceeded to k-box after dinner at cineleisure...for me, am not really a fan..because (1) cant sing, and (2) the songs i listen to are not sing-able...can someone tell me...how do one sing "to kill a mocking bird" or "hung-up" or "boulevard of broken dreams"? hahahahaha...but not wanting to be a spoilsport...i joined them at the ktv...and because my friend had 2 groups of friends..she had 2 rooms - a smoking room and a non-smoking room...*laughs* and there's only 3 of us in the non-smoking room...
well because i cannot really sing..and there's not much songs for me to sing...plus one of my friends is an avid fan of jay chow...i literally went to a jay chow's concert...every single song that was played was a jay chow's song...and i could only enjoy the MTV and admire his talent..hahahaha..but i must say...i love 2 of his songs - "yi fu zi ming" and "pa wo hui lai le"....although i cannot sing..but i thought these 2 songs were great...and he look damn handsome in the mtv....and because we were kinda bored, we decided to dedicate hokkien songs and were trying very hard to sing with the correct pronounciation...*laughs* it was damn hilarious...then we tried our hands at very very old soppy love songs by old singers such as teresa teng etc...oh, and one of them could sing JJ's songs so well..that i was mesmerized by her...if only she's a man...*laughs*
we hung around at k-box till like 2 plus when my eyelids are so damn heavy that i could fall asleep while standing....bade farewell to the smoking room friends...and took a cab home...darn, i didnt drive because i thought there would be alcohol...*laughs* but sadly, all the alchohol was in the smoking room and i dont know the smoking room friends that well...got the urge to drink sia..but must abstain...cannot afford to have belly because of drinking....*laughs* but then again a belly is already bulging...hahahaha..whatever!
generally it's a good outing..except for one bad thing...one of my friends was in a rather jumpy mood...she's someone i'm not very close to in the group...in fact i dont really talk to her and all...and that day i tried talking to her..she seemed so jumpy and agitated...learnt that she's under a lot of stressed from work...well..not that i care that she's stressful..but must she be so jumpy when i took the initiative to talk to her? hahahaha..no hard feelings and not feeling offended...just making some remarks...anyway, let's hope she can get out of the stress soon enough...although not that i give a care....*grins*
