real or fake?

does anyone know how to differentiate a real Louis Vuitton from a fake one? how about a real Gucci from a fake one? a real Burberry from a fake one? a real Fendi from a real one? a real Prada from a fake one? *laughs* if anyone think i'am an expert at this area...sorry...you got the wrong person...i totally am suck at such things...*grins*

actually it was a topic which was brought up during lunchtime.. (some may think it's crap to talk about such things during lunch but hey what can a group of young ladies talk about besides bags, clothes, boyfriends, shoes, bossess, etc) we were just talking about branded bags and suddenly the topic of differentiating between the real and fake came along...were lamenting about how expensive the real ones are but the quality is really good...and we realized we didnt really know how to differentiate... *laughs*

basically, given our limited knowledge, we can only say briefly on how to differentiate for LV: (1) all LV products would have an unique serial number and (2) the monogram of LV products are symmetrical and will not be incomplete... *laughs* and because of this, we began looking for serial numbers on our LV stuffs..and i could find the serial number of my LV bag!! *yeah* also, i could also find the serial number of my Gucci wallet!! *yeah* (if you think i am a rich lady, nay..you are wrong..but if you think i have a lot of branded bags, yeah...you are right..but they were all gifts from my mum and uncle..*grins*)

when i reached home and told my mum about it..she got all excited and took out all her LV stuffs to check as well...*laughs* she had real and fake ones..and so it became apparent that the real LV stuffs do have serial numbers and the monogram is indeed symmetrical and complete....interesting....

actually why do people buy such expensive branded bags? one bag cost at least a few hundreds or even a a hefty thousand.. (i must say i am also a victim of expensive branded bags but i'm lucky to have my mum and uncle to give them to me as gifts..heh heh) the most common comment that i have heard about buying expensive branded bags is that the quality of the bags is really good and can last for a lifetime.. which i agree!! *grins*

actually given that amount of money to buy one expensive bag, one is able to get a few not-so-expensive-but-alright bags...in thise case, wouldnt there be more variety? i guess it's all up to the individual...some prefer one "good" bag while some prefers many "okay" bags ...to me...i prefer MANY "GOOD" BAGS!! *laughs*
