went to tokyo for business during the first week of october. one word - SHIOKS. business class ticket, 5-star hotel, free meals. SHIOKS. i wish i can go back more often. am asking my boss to relocate me there. but i guess it's just a request that is never going to be answered. but then again, one will never know. in my company, seriously, change is the only constant.
anyway, first time in tokyo. been planning to go tokyo for holiday for the longest time but somehow, it never happen. always thought it's expensive. actually it IS expensive. went shopping a bit and didnt get anything at all. they are sooo expensive. even their ah lian clothes are expensive. went to this mall called 109 in Shibuya. basically japanese ah lian clothes. OMG, a skirt cost USD 80. seriously, i dont know how these young ah lians can afford to buy clothes in japan. went to their so-called normal shopping malls. nothing is below USD 100. seriously, not my place for shopping. wanted to go mount fuji, cant even see it from my office. okay it's a little bit too far but many told me if it's a really clear sky, i can see it. anyway, not the season to go. disneyland and disneysea - wanted to go but it's super lame to go alone. another place i wanna go is kyoto, didnt go. japanese fish market, couldnt wake up. basically, i did nothing during this trip. haha. wasted.
best thing that happen to me is this:
yes, i was zipping through tokyo in this baby. of course i didnt rent it and neither did i buy this. a very nice client of mine offered to give me a tour of tokyo over the weekend and so this is his convertible. it's AMAZING. when the ferrari went really fast, it was an amazing feeling. it's a mixture of fear and excitement. fear because my client doesnt seems to be a good driver. excited because it's really fast and the vroom-vroom sound is solid. couldnt stop smiling when i was in the car. got many attention too. hee hee.
i'll let the picture do the talking.
the view of the tokyo tower as we drove past it. because it's a convertible, i could just snap it while sitting down. an advantage of owning a convertible, heh heh.
a beautiful view of tokyo. took this when i was on the roof-top of my client's apartment. NOPE, i didnt go to his apartment. it was very kind of him to check with his security about the roof access and he got me there. amazing view. and yes, he's FILTHY RICH. and nope, he's like an uncle to me. haha
the tokyo tower in my hands!! remains me of the japanese drama that i used to love - "OVERTIME", staring my favorite sorimachi takashi!!!
another city view of tokyo. actually it seems like im on the empire state building in NY. i can basically see tokyo. so cool.
this is Shinjuku. i dont know why but i was dying to go there and when i reach there, it's just another shopping area. maybe i didnt explore enough. not enough time. hee hee.
aaah, this is Shibuya. the famous cross junction that is always seen in Japanese drama or movies. on the first night that i was there, i didnt know this was it. i always thought it's in Shinjuku and so i was searching for it in Shinjuku. only when my colleague told me it's in Shibuya then i realized i have actually crossed it. hee hee.
not sure where is this. cant remember. and no i was not drunk. it's just that i realized all my pictures look pretty much the same. guess tokyo looks pretty much the same everywhere.
aah was at a temple and happened to see a wedding ceremony. everyone looked so grand here. but to be honest, the colors make it look more like funeral than wedding. haha. but then again, it's the culture. maybe im just so used to having red during weddings.
was so excited when i see this group of ladies. they were all wearing kimono. sooo pretty. this was in harajuku. wanted to take pictures of some cosplay but unfortunately, i didnt see any. but anyhow, pretty kimonos are good enough. BUT, only the kimonos are pretty. haha.
not sure where is this. i think it's probably Ginza. again, this was taken when the car stopped at the traffic light. see, no reflection from the glass windows. another advantage of having a convertible. hee hee.
very very very famous band - SMAP. known them since i was 12. thought this poster was rather cute. if only i actually bump into them in person. haha. would have fainted on the spot. but then again, i prefer sorimachi takashi ANYTIME.
am now "begging" my boss to let me go tokyo again.
