you know you are old when.....
(1) the standard question is always asked when you go for CNY visiting....DO YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND? *laughs* this is the most-asked question for me for this CNY...and my answer has been pretty standard... DONT HAVE LEH, YOU WANNA INTRO? *grins* frankly speaking, i also dont know why i dont have but most said my expectations are too high...*shrugs* today, granny told me..." it's time for you to find a boyfriend..not asking you to marry him immediately...date for a year or 2 then it's about time to get married " this is bad...real bad....*laughs*
(2) you feel PAISEH to collect red packets when you go for CNY visiting...previously, i have NEVER felt paiseh to take the red packets from my relatives or anything... but this year, i kinda feel paiseh...*laughs* not sure why but somehow felt that i'm too old to take them from friends and relatives...but all of them said " aiyah, not married, still can take...still young lah " hahahahaha..it's worse when my students' parents gave me and my students ask from me and i cannot give them...*laughs*
(3) all the friends around you are either married or happily and steadily attached... this is what is happening to me right now..most of my friends are either married or they are in the getting married mood....while i am still looking around for a potential guy to be the one for me....*laughs* actually quite excited if my friends are getting married..it would be even more exciting if they are close and old friends...really cannot wait to see my close friends getting married...was telling another friend that i think i will cry if i were to attend another common friend's ROM...tears of joy of course....
(4) you are not afraid to lunch or dine alone already....*laughs* not sure if it's the same for others...but when i was much younger, i would NEVER EVER eat alone..no matter how hungry i was..i would rather starve then to buy a meal and eat alone....if i were to eat alone..i MUST have a book or magazine to read and would only dine at fast-food restaurants...now, bochup, as long as i'm hungry..i can just go anywhere to buy a bowl of anything and eat like as if i'm with everybody....*grins*
(5) you begin to act more auntified/unclefied...*laughs* this is certainly true for me..every morning on my way to work...i will be eyeing all those potential passengers whom i think will alight soon so that i could get their seats and sleep...*laughs* and every morning, i would have to do this and fight with the aunties and uncles of the trains...and i must say, i win some and i lose some...*laughs* also, on the way home, i would make sure i'm right in front of the door so that when the train doors open, i can jolly well rush in and get a seat and sleep all the way back home too...*laughs* so kiasur right?
(6) you need lesser and lesser sleep..somehow i felt that i dont need that much sleep anymore..in fact the more i sleep...the more tired i get...and am not sure why is this so....*shrugs* once heard that the older you get...the lesser sleep you need..which is why, older folks are always waking up early not because they are not tired...but simply because they cannot sleep anymore....*sighz*

(7) you think that you are the oldest person in the club when you go mambo night...*laughs* i felt like an auntie when i went mambo on wednesday...everyone around me seems so young and innocent...*laughs* okay, maybe not innocent..but frankly speaking, i really really felt old that night...maybe i was surrounded by really young people and my stamina doesnt seemed to be as good as last year....*laughs* guess it's time to exercise....*laughs*
*sighz* am really getting older...when i was 16..i hope to be 18...when i was 18.. i hope to be 21...when i was 21..i hope to be 18...and now i'm 25..i hope to be 15...*laughs*

My dearest, u haven't even reached 25 officially :) imagine how amy & i Alreodi feeeel :). Totally agree on pt 4. Pt 7 - if ur theory holds, that means moi have grown old many many moons ago. I shd be a dino by now. In any case, age is but a number, let's attempt to age gracefully. :)
oops i mean pt 6, not 7 ;)
for pt 1) "How's your sex life?" usually shuts them up really quick. The benefits spill over to pt 2) also cuz you'll get smaller/ less red packets. pt 6) totally untrue. 7) what is mambo night? they sell mambo stuff in clubs?
amy: hahahaha..like i said...this doesnt apply to everyone...that's just me and some individuals out there :)
icedy:hahaha! yeah let's age gracefully and work our way towards tai-tai-dom...
wenjie: you are a funny man..never realize that when we were in school..well, have your tried "how's your sex life?" on your relatives? try it and show me the results...*laughs* and no, they dont sell mambo things in clubs...it's call mambo night because i also dont know why...a zouk term i guess...*laughs*
I know what to expect when i hit 25.
On the eating alone part i eat alone quite often i dont have a problem with that actucally.
